Improved SEO
The migration created an opportunity to update on-page SEO and introduce product schema, giving search engines clearer product information to use in organic results.

Garden Goodies needed a more suitable ecommerce solution after finding their previous Magento website unnecessarily complex. I rebuilt the site using WordPress and WooCommerce, creating a simpler and more manageable way to sell garden supplies online.

Garden Goodies sells a broad range of garden supplies, from tools and landscaping products to watering equipment and plant care. Its online shop needed to make that range easy to explore while giving the business a practical way to manage its website.
The previous Magento site had become unnecessarily complex for the business. The brief was to move to a more suitable ecommerce platform and use the rebuild to improve the experience for customers as well as the people running the shop.
I rebuilt the website using WordPress and WooCommerce, creating a simpler foundation for selling garden supplies online. The aim was to bring the store and its supporting content together in a system that better suited Garden Goodies.
The project went beyond changing platforms. It was also an opportunity to review how customers find products, how the range is presented and how product information is communicated to search engines.
A wide product range needs clear routes into the catalogue. The storefront groups products into recognisable areas such as tools, landscaping, lawn and plant care, watering and pest control. Product search gives shoppers another way to find an item when they know what they need.
The homepage brings key ranges, new products, offers and best sellers into view. Gardening advice sits alongside the shop, giving visitors useful content to explore as they choose products for their garden. Account and basket access remain close at hand throughout the browsing experience.
The migration also provided an opportunity to bring the site's on-page SEO up to date. The work included product schema and improvements to the way product information was presented for organic search.
The focus was on giving search engines a clearer understanding of the catalogue, alongside the improvements customers could see in the storefront. This made SEO part of the rebuild rather than a separate layer added after the new shop was complete.

The rebuild focused on a friendlier browsing experience, with clear product categories, product search and straightforward access to the basket across desktop, tablet and mobile.
