Who we are

This privacy policy covers the Simple Importer app (the "App"), built and provided by Envy Creative, a freelance web development business. It explains what information the App collects when you install it on your Shopify store, how that information is used, and your rights in relation to it.

This policy applies only to the App itself. It doesn't cover Shopify's own platform, which has its own privacy policy, or any other Envy Creative product or service.

What the App does

The App is installed by you, the store owner, into your own Shopify admin. It reads product and category data from CSV export files you upload, and uses that data to create and update products and collections in your Shopify store. It's a store-management tool used by you — it has no storefront-facing or customer-facing component of its own.

Information we collect

Because the App only deals with your store's catalogue, the information it collects is limited to the following:

• Your shop's domain name, used to identify your store within the App.
• An access token issued by Shopify when you install the App, which allows the App to make the changes you request (creating and updating products, collections, images and inventory levels) on your behalf. We never see or store your Shopify login password.
• The contents of the CSV files you upload, for as long as it takes to process them into products and collections.
• A record of each import you run — which products and collections were created or updated, and any errors encountered — so you can review progress and troubleshoot issues.

We do not request, access, collect or store any information about your customers or their orders. The App's permissions are limited to your product catalogue, inventory and collections — it never asks Shopify for customer, order or payment information of any kind.

How we use this information

We use the information above only to operate the App: to authenticate with Shopify's systems on your behalf, to process the CSV files you upload, to create and update products and collections in your store, and to show you the progress and history of your imports.

We do not use your information for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored in a private database on secure third-party cloud infrastructure. It is not publicly accessible, and is only used by the App to provide its functionality to you.

Who we share information with

We share information with Shopify itself, since the App works by making requests to Shopify's systems in order to create and update your products and collections. We do not share your information with any other third party, and we do not use any third-party analytics or advertising services within the App.

How long we keep your information

If you uninstall the App, your access token is deleted immediately. The remaining records described above (your import history and shop identifier) are fully erased once Shopify notifies us that your data should be removed, which happens automatically as part of Shopify's standard uninstall process. You don't need to do anything to trigger this.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about your store, or to delete it, by contacting us using the details below. Since the App doesn't collect any information about your customers, we're not able to receive or action data requests on behalf of your customers directly — those should be handled through Shopify in the usual way. Where Shopify forwards us a customer data request or deletion request in relation to your store, we respond confirming that we hold no customer data, as described above.

Cookies

The App is an embedded page within your Shopify admin and authenticates you using Shopify's own secure session system. It does not set tracking or advertising cookies of its own.

Children's privacy

The App is a business tool intended for use by store owners and their staff. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the App's functionality changes. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we'll update the date below.
